Nita Jean Beesley 1929 - 2009 Services for Jean Beesley will be held Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel, located at 5600 Panorama Drive (corner of Fairfax). There will be a viewing from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday the 21st at the Kern River Family Mortuary located at 1900 North Chester. There will also be a viewing Saturday from 9:00- 9:30 am in the primary room just preceding the services. Bishop Brian Marsh will conduct the services with interment and dedication of the grave following at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Jean Beesley was born in Bloomington, IL on November 13, 1929. She was the only child of Mary J. Beckley and Louis J. Thoennes. In 1949 she was married to her sweetheart, Stanley A. Beesley and they settled in Bakersfield in 1953 where she became the Music Director at Norris School and later a 5th grade teacher at Harding Elementary School. She also taught piano lessons for many years, sang with "Music Bells", directed and played for many Community Theater and Musical productions, and was part of the California Music Teacher's Association. As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Jean served in several callings and contributed her time and many talents to blessing and uplifting others. Stan and Jean are the parents of 6 children: David, Ron (Jill), and Terry of Bakersfield, Dan (Patty), Merri, of San Jose, and Jason (Nina) of Dixon. They are also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
