Ralph Fimbres Jr.(1963 - 2013)

Ralph Fimbres, Jr. October 15, 1963 - March 2, 2013 On March 2, 2013, our Heavenly Father called Ralphie home, embracing him in His arms as he slept, for his work here was complete. Ralph was the beloved son of Ralph and Mary Fimbres, and loving father to his five children: Marc, Ralph (RJ), Brianna, Mychal and daughter-in-law Kortnee, and Christopher. He was grandfather to Marque, Demarco, Estee, and Mikey. Ralphie was a devoted husband to Suzanne and loving stepfather to Steven and Angelica. He will be greatly missed by his sisters and brother and their spouses: Terry and Costa Page; Sylvia and Ed Arambula; Gabriel and Mary Louise Fimbres; and the mother of his children, Monica Parra. He was much-loved by all his nieces and nephews, whom he fondly teased with his unique style of humor. His absence will be felt by his many family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister Mandy, who now welcomes him home. Ralphie attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School, and graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1981, making life-long friends who will mostly remember him for his quick sense of humor, good looks, smile, and his Fimbres eyebrows. In September 2000, as he was close to death, our Lord gave Ralph a second chance at life to redeem himself. By offering his life up to God, he overcame his struggle with alcohol. He reached out to help others by sharing his story and experiences as a speaker at Sacred Promises and support groups. He also loved attending his men's prayer group with Msgr. Craig, which helped to deepen his faith and dedication to God. Ralphie was an avid sports fan and liked playing sports. During his younger days, he was a catcher in baseball, which he excelled at and often bragged about. Later, he enjoyed coaching his children on various teams. He loved the Dodgers and attended many of their games with family and friends. His simple pleasures in life included spending time with his children and grandson Mikey, eating at the Arizona Cafe and Brad's, listening and dancing to his old-school jams, camping in Pismo, and shopping for good deals. He especially enjoyed making people laugh with his quick one-liners and movie quotes. Ralph was a dedicated and respected team member as Sales Executive for Kaiser on the Job, which he found challenging and fulfilling. Many of his co-workers became his friend and are saddened at his sudden death. Visitation for Ralph Fimbres, Jr. will be held at Greenlawn Southwest on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 3-5p.m. and recitation of the Rosary will be at 7p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Church on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10a.m., with interment to follow at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery. Ralphie was so loved and will be deeply missed, but our faith will sustain us. We give thanks to the Lord for the time we had, but we must now say goodbye with Mom's blessing, "Dios te bendiga". In our hearts, forever will you always be, until we are together again. Jesus, we trust in you. For condolences please visit www.greenlawnmortuaryandcemetery.com.
