Randal Lee Rankin(1930 - 2013)

Randal Lee Rankin 1930 - 2013 On August 16, 2013, The Lord called Randal Lee Rankin home. Randal Lee Rankin was born June 2, 1930 in Wayne Oklahoma. His family moved to Greenfield, California in 1938 for a short while finally settling in Wasco, California. Randal graduated from Wasco High School with the Class of 1949. Randal was a very accomplished athlete and currently holds the Pole Vault Record to date. He then joined the Coast Guard and was the Keeper of the Point Pinos Lighthouse in Pacific Grove, California. Randal married Billie Thurman of Wasco and had three daughters Cherylee Wegman Craig, Carol Terry, and Julie Nadal. Randal is survived by his wife Mary Semar; sister Maxine and Terell Mills of Forgan, OK; brother Richard Rankin, Purcell Oklahoma, daughters Cherylee and Warren Craig of Wasco, Carol and Vard Terry of Bakersfield, Julie and Aaron Nadal of Bakersfield, stepson Scott Semar of Bakersfield; 9 grandchildren, and 3 Great grandchildren. He was preceded by death his mother, Pearl Rankin and father Lee Rankin and brother John (Jack) Rankin. A graveside service will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 21, at 10 a.m. at Wasco Memorial Park for Randal Lee Rankin, age 83, of Wasco who passed away August 16, 2013 in Wasco. A reception following the graveside services will be held at the ELKS Lodge. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 20, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home, Wasco.
