Richard Blair Davis(1928 - 2013)

Richard Blair Davis August 12, 1928 - November 30, 2013 Dick passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at home with his wife of 42 years at his side, after a long battle with cancer. He was born 85 years ago in Los Angeles and graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1946. He also served in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1955. Dick moved to Bakersfield in 1966 to open an automotive speed shop where he and Carolyn met and were later married in 1971. He owned several automotive related businesses and taught at Hartnell College and Fort Ord before being employed by the State of California, Bureau of Automotive Repair from which he retired. He is survived by his wife Carolyn; son Steven Davis; daughter and husband Susan and Ethan Revsin; stepdaughter Debra Williams; and stepson David Friday and his wife Lori. He has nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister Virginia and grandson Travis. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to Optimal Hospice.
