Thelma Sue Frederick September 22, 1934 - October 08, 2013 Thelma Sue Frederick, 79, of Porterville, California, passed away after a valiant battle with cancer on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at home surrounded by family. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1013 E. Olive Ave. in Porterville. Following the service family and friends are invited to gather for a time of fellowship at Hillside Community Church, 1091 W. Linda Vista Ave. north of Porterville just off of Hwy 65, (on frontage road). Mortuary services by Meyers Funeral Services. Born September 22, 1934 in Kaw City, Oklahoma, she is predeceased by her parents, Stephen Herbert and Sarah E. (Perkins) Bowman; brother Stephen; sisters Gladys, Mary, Saribel, Glenda, Marilyn, Martha and her twin Velma Lou; and her late husband of 57 years, David Eugene Frederick. She is survived by two brothers, Billy J. (Dorothy) Bowman of Burlington, North Carolina, John F. Bowman of Bakersfield; a daughter, Susie Chacon of Bakersfield; two sons, David R. (Cindy) Frederick, of Springville and John M. Frederick of Porterville; ten grandchildren, Daniel ( Inez), Joshua, Nicole (Clemente), Sarah, Robin, Micah, Sam, Erica (Jesse), Jeremiah, and Ian; four great-grandchildren, Elisa, Nicle, Gracie Sue and Annabelle; and many loving nieces and nephews. Sue lived life with strength and determination always ready to lend a hand to someone in need. She supported her husband by faithfully attending his teams' games, whether rain or shine, for over 30 years. After retiring from her job as library technician at Porterville High School, she enjoyed sewing quilts, crocheting, reading and cruising with her husband and brother. Most recently she was honored to serve as a Pink Lady at Sierra View District Hospital.
