Elizabeth Crick Obituary

Elizabeth Cordell Crick February 4, 1924 - December 26, 2010 Visitation is today Wednesday, Dec. 29th, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Kern River Family Mortuary. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 30th, 2:30 p.m., at The Bridge Bible Church, 12225 Stockdale Hwy. This women was truly a Woman of God. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior while in her 20's. She was committed to her Savior and lived her life accordingly. Her Faith sustained her in adversity and trials. She was quick to pray and seek guidance from her Savior. She went through many struggles during her life, this did not detour or conquer her Faith. She knew the God that held her in the palm of His hand, was the same God that would bring her through victoriously. It was in the midst of pain and struggle that God grew her to be the Christian Lady she became. Through the years Elizabeth functioned in different areas of Ministry. Her last 15 years of Ministry was with the Balcony Woman's Ministry at Valley Baptist Church. She felt privileged that God would use her to share what God did for her and what He could do for other women. She served in this Ministry until her illness. Some quotes found in her Bible: "God's teaching does not always make sense, but it is senseless to think we know better." "The memory of Jesus' death and resurrection calls us to a life of Praise." "The Word of God is Truth; so when my faith grows dim, I look into His Word." "We do not need more things to be thankful, we just need to be more thankful." "I have turned all my cares into Prayers." Elizabeth had many cares. The one she cared most was her husband, Franklin Odell Crick, who preceded her in death. She has two daughters and sons-in-law, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her family was her care! She turned each one of us into a Prayer. The Lord knows we gave her a lot of reasons to pray. In a conversation with Elizabeth, she said that her greatest prayer, was to see all of her family in Heaven! As your family, we want to thank you for being strong in your faith, and never ceasing to pray for us. We all love you and will see you soon. We at the Alzheimers Disease Association of kern County want to express our condolences. Elizabeth will truly be missed by the staff. Elizabeth stood firm in what she believed in and we will alway remember her saying" If I dont want to do it I dont have to" and would sit there with her arms folded. We all thought it was funny how she would take control of the Day Care and had quite a few folowers that were rebels too. Ours Prayers are with you and your family.
