To the Fern Baldwin Family...Walt and I send you our deepest sympathy on the lost of your loved one. She was a very nice lady and a very giving lady. She really enjoyed going to the Ball games and watching and talking to the players and helping them in any way she could. She will be missed and I'm sorry we couldn't be there but now we are living in Oklahoma. Remember that she had many friends that will miss her just like her family will. We thought of her often and she was in our prayers as you guys are now. Your Friends and Fern's Friends Walt and Linda Bledsoe

Baldwin Family: "Glen and I would so like to have attended Fern's funeral. We loved her and will miss her phone calls and being able to visit with her when we pass through Bakersfield. We have many things she gave us to remember her by. Steven got out a blanket she gave him & put it on his bed. Glen keeps the one she gave him on his bed and he loves it. Being so far away, it's hard to believe she is really gone. We have a message on our answering machine with her voice on it, and Glen doesn't want to erase it just yet. We send our love and condolenses. Sorry for the inconvience caused by Glen's not being able to attend. He's still sitting around all day with his foot up.

Thank you for the thoughtful condolences and stories about our grandmother (and mother). It's very heartbreaking to have both Grandpa Sid and Grandma Fern gone. It's a chapter in this book of life that has stopped being written. The memories are what we will carry to the generations to come. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness.

Hello Kirby and Baldwin kids,
Your parents were wonderful people and across-the-street neighbors. My dad Leo loved Sid. Fern was the one I called to go check on my mom the morning she died. When she (Louise) didn't answer the phone, I called Fern who went right over. She called me back to tell me my mom was gone. What a wonderful neighbor and friend, who could be counted on whenever anything was needed. My condolences to all of you. It's very hard to lose your mom.
