Della Boynton Obituary

Della Seeley Boynton 1914 2006 Services: Sat., Feb. 11, 11:00 a.m. Memorial services will be held Saturday, at 11:00 a.m., in the Great Room at Mission Family Mortuary, California at S Street. Della was born January 22, 1914 to Woody Pioneers Virginia and Charles Seeley. She passed away at home with family on February 6, 2006. She was the youngest of 5 children and is survived by the oldest a sister, Pearl Olds of Glennville and recently of Bakersfield. Preceding her in death are her brothers, Ernest, Reed and Henry (Hank). She is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Vizzard Chavez and husband, Fred; sons, Delbert D. and Cecil R. Williams and his wife, Linda; grandchildren, Megan Doherty, Julie Landrigan Sandborg, John R. Wright and his wife, Wendy, Charles Williams, Nancy, Allison, Katherine and husband, Bob Williams and Debbie (Williams) Alexander; great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Hailey Landrigan, John Brian Wright and Emma Williams; also several stepgrandchildren and their children along with many nieces, nephews and friends. She was very proud of her family and loved them all. She grew up on the family ranch at Blue Mt. and attended little Woody School through the 8th grade. She moved to Bakersfield as a young adult and remained there most of her life. She always loved horse activities, roping, rodeos, horse shows and people she met and passed her love for horses and cowboy way of life to her daughter. She loved singing and played piano with her two sons, and their musical friends. They played music for many square dances and country dances in the fifties. She moved to Bear Valley Springs in 1978, moved to nearby Cummings Valley until 1993 and returned to Bakersfield for the remainder of her life. She never forgot all the wonderful friends she made in B.V.S. and all the fun horse events she was involved in. At 84 and in need of something to do she decided to start washing dishes in her granddaughter, Julies, café located in the Western Stockmans Market at Famosa. She would wash dishes and rest awhile and visit and repeat all day long on sales days. She soon became Grandma to just about everyone that came into the café more than once. She loved it and continued helping until she was 89. The café remained her favorite place to go with her daughter just to see her friends. Thanks to all of you that frequent the Idle Spur for making mom feel so special. A very special thank you to Loretta Rogers, Jack and Hazel Vizzard. We can never thank you enough for all the love, help and support you have given over the years. There will be a Celebration of Moms life following the Memorial Service at the Idle Spur Café at Famosa, her favorite place to go. All that knew her and the family are invited to join us. A very special thanks to Optimal Hospice, especially Moms nurse, Marian and assistant, Claudia, for the loving care given to her during the past few months. God took the very Best Ray Mishs Mission Family Mortuary Legacy.com
