Aaron Kennedy Stull, Jr. September 19, 1927 - August 13, 2012 Aaron Kennedy Stull, Jr. was born September 19, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri to parents Aaron Kennedy Stull, Sr. and Marian Mick Stull. He was the eldest of five children. He died peacefully at age 84 on August 13, 2012 at his home in Emeryville, California. He was buried at Lafayette Cemetery on August 17, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Don Von Stull (Lafayette), second wife Mary Babcock Stull, brother-in-law Dr. Francis Roque (Fresno), and nephew Valiant R. Stull (Bakersfield). His parents moved the family to Monrovia, California in 1932 and to Bakersfield in 1941. He left home at age 14. Unbeknownst to his parents, he grew a moustache to look older and at age 15 enlisted in the U.S. Army as Aaron Kennedy. He served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division during the D-Day battle at Normandy Beach. Since so many paratroopers were lost during that battle, the survivors became part of the 101st Airborne Division. Aaron also fought at Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge. It was here that he was wounded. A Catholic Chaplain found him on the battlefield and helped him to a hospital. It was there that his true identity and age were revealed. His parents were contacted and he was discharged from the service. Aaron received the Purple Heart. On his return to Bakersfield he continued his education. He was on the first football team at St. Francis High School. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1947 and St. Mary's College in 1953 where he received a degree in Chemistry. He married Mary Helen Briscoe in 1953 when he started working for Union Carbide Corporation in Yonkers, New York. Later he founded his own company Pacific Coast Chemical Co. in Berkeley, California. He was soon joined in the company by his brother Don. Pacific Coast, a world-wide chemical sales company also has warehouses in Vernon, California. Aaron was a good-hearted man with great intellectual curiosity. He could discuss any subject. He was a world traveler and wine connoisseur. He loved fine food and enjoyed playing duplicate bridge. He visited every state in the Unites States and slept at least one night in each. He is survived by his five children Aaron Kennedy Stull III (Maureen) San Rafael, Dorian Stull, San Francisco, Justin Stull (Arlene), Orange County, Dierdre Stull Padidar, Mill Valley and Dominic Stull (Lori) Walnut Creek, sister-in-law Patricia Stull (Lafayette), sister Betty Ann Roque (Fresno), brothers Thomas H. Stull (Miriam) and Boyce Stull (Lena) both of Bakersfield. He is also survived by step-children, Audrey and Heather Babcock, 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
