Abelardo G. Jasso Sr. "LaLo" May 26, 1929 - May 3, 2012 Abelardo was born on May 26, 1929 in Sonora, Texas. He was called upon by our Lord on May 3, 2012, in Bakersfield, California. He is preceded in death by his wife of 25 years Petra Granillo Jasso and his son Elias Jasso. LaLo and Petra leave behind three children, Abelardo G. Jasso Jr. and his wife Kimberly, David Jasso and his wife Rosemarie and Elayne Jasso Deval and her husband James. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a life long companion Esther Gomez and her loving family who saw him as a father, two sisters Elena Castanon and Mary De La Rosa both of Tulare, California along with many family and friends who loved him dearly. LaLo went to school in San Angelo, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army in 1945 during WWII with Rainbow Divin Europe. He came to California in 1947 and worked various jobs such as Farm Labor, Contracting, Cannery Work and Printing. Then in 1985 he received his Diploma in Christian Ministries, and for the next ten years he was a pastor in the Mexican Border. He will be missed as a very loving father, a good provider, and he will be remembered for his words of encouragement, prayers and his very giving heart to all who knew him. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 9th, from 5:00 to 9:00pm and Thursday, May 10th, at 10:00am both at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.).
