Ada Tracy Obituary

Ada Lorene Tracy May 28, 1925 - October 18, 2010 Visitation for Ada Lorene Tracy will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Friday, October 22, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Ada quickly began using her middle name after a cow in her small hometown was named Ada. As Lorene's family grew, she answered to Mom, Mother, Grandma, Nanny, Nan, Aunt, Loke, Aunt Cokey, etc. Lorene's family moved from Texas to California when she was eighteen years old. She remained a proud Texan and would bet anyone a quarter on the Cowboys. Lorene treasured her family time. She loved her family and friends and would always put their needs before hers. She always had a pot of coffee on ready to serve any visitors. She loved the outdoors and camping with family and friends. Later in life she found great joy in planning the annual family reunion. Lorene will be missed by many people. Lorene is preceded in death by her husband, Everett H. Tracy II; parents, Luther and Bertha Hillis, Sr.; brother, Luther Hillis II and wife Mary; sister, Ruby Bledsoe and husband Avery; daughter, Sandy Hanna and grandson, Kelly Frye. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Everett and Harriet Tracy III; grandchildren, Cheyenne Tracy, Jared Ashby, Karen Frye, Robin Kimbriel and Ray Hanna; numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. What a great loss for Lokes family. She was a kind, gentle soul and one of the very best people I've ever known. Even when there were long periods of time between seeing her, it was always just like yesterday. She just had that knack of making everyone feel special and important.

Rest well Loke, you earned it dear lady. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your extended family.

My thoughts are with the family now. Bless you all.
