Adolph Limi December 30, 1922 - November 16, 2010 Adolph Limi, 87, of Bakersfield passed away November 16, after a long struggle with cancer. He was born December 30, 1922, in Greenfield to parents Domenico Limi and Armida Maria Marchetti originally of Lucca, Italy. Adolph attended Kern Union High School where he met his future wife, Mary Vanderpool. After graduation they married, October 3, 1942. Adolph entered the U. S. Army December of 1944. He was assigned to the 407th Medical Dispensary in Japan where he supervised dispensary personnel who distributed medical supplies to 6,000 troops. Adolph loved his country and was proud to be an American. He received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and Philippine Liberation Ribbon. After separating from the Army November 1946, he returned to family life and began farming with his brother Louie Limi. The Limi Brothers farmed for 45 years before retiring. Adolph was preceded in death by his parents, Domenico and Armida Limi; his brothers, Joe and Louie Limi; and by his sister, Fosca Limi. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Mary; sons, Robert (Nadine), Gregory (Peggy); and daughter, Kathleen Brackeen (George); and sister-in-law, Bruna Limi. Loving grandchildren, Vance Limi, Amanda Limi, Joelle Brackeen and Allison Brackeen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at Doughty- Calhoun-O'Meara, Monday November 22, 2010, from 4 to 7 p.m. A graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Greenlawn Southwest.
