Alice Cazacus Seeger


1927 - 2016 Obituary Condolences

Alice Cazacus Seeger was born April 1, 1927 in Los Angeles, Ca., and passed away February 24, 2016 in Bakersfield.

Soon after graduating from East Bakersfield High in 1945, she married the love of her life, Allen (Bud) Seeger. Mom worked for over 20 years at Bakersfield College as the Director of Veteran Affairs. After retiring from Bakersfield College she worked until she was 81 years old for Bakersfield City School District. Mom made many friends over the years.

Mom enjoyed spending much of her summertime over at Pismo Coast village; many fond memories were shared at the oceanside campgrounds Mom was an avid sports fan, and followed her teams faithfully, especially the New York Yankees. She realized her dreams with a trip to Yankee Stadium in 2008.

Mom never met a stranger. Her irresistible smile, drew everybody to her, especially children.

Mom is preceeded in death by her husband Allen, her loving father Gus, mother Jenny, and brother Jim.

She is survived by her son Kurt Seeger, daughter Judy Schrock (Paul) and daughter Kelly Calhoun (Tommy) Three grandchildren; Todd Tessen, Alicia (Covey) Hebbard and Andres (Tabitha) Maya, Six great- grandchildren; Alli, Zach, Brody, Breleigh, Dante, Taylor and her loving sister Bea, whom Mom was very close to.

We would like to thank mom's caregivers who always showed her love, and kindness, Maylin, Lando, Elvie, Marilyn, and Cynthia.

The Heart Hospital CCI nurses many thanks for all your diligence in her final days.

Services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd.
