Alvin Herbert McClellan Obituary
Alvin Herbert McClellan August 30, 1928 - March 12, 2013. Alvin passed away peacefully with his wife Virginia by his side. Alvin was born and raised in Bakersfield. He attended Lincoln School and Bakersfield High School. Alvin worked for the Kirby Vacuum Company for over 40 years and then went on to open up three Adult Assisted Living Homes in Bakersfield. He played an active role in numerous organizations throughout California. He was on the Board of Directors at Bakersfield Senior Center, he worked with College Planning Solutions, and he was a member of the Bakersfield Koi Club and enjoyed traveling and fishing. He was an active member of the True Light Missionary Baptist Church in Wasco, CA. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents Alvin McClellan and Emma Kelly, and daughter Patricia. Survived by his wife Virginia McClellan; son Alvin Jr. and wife Debra in Vallejo, California; daughter Ruth Ann in Plano, Texas; and son Rudy and his wife Melissa in Houston, Texas Services as follows: Viewing - Thursday March 21, 2013 from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. at True Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1104 14th St. Wasco, CA 93280, Funeral - Thursday March 21, 2013 at 10 a.m. at True Light MBC, Burial - Thursday March 21, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest, 2739 Panama Ln, Bakersfield, CA 93313 Services handled by: Beloved Care Funeral Service, 4840 E.
