Amparo R. Ramirez

1931 - 2012 Obituary Condolences
Amparo R. Ramirez Obituary
Amparo R. Ramirez Dec. 20, 1931 - Dec. 24, 2012 Our dearly loved mother, Amparo Rodriguez Ramirez has gone to rest in the warm and loving arms of our heavenly Father. She was born to Felix and Epifania Rodriguez on December 20, 1931 and was the oldest of 10 siblings. She married our father, Cecilio Ramirez T., in February of 1951, in Mexicali, BC. In 1959 she and our father moved to Bakersfield, CA. Her first 6 children were born in Mexicali; followed by an additional 5 who were born in Bakersfield. She proudly became a US citizen in 1997. Aside from our mother's true devotion to the care and well being of her 11 children, she worked at the first-established Mexicali restaurant, labored as a seasonal field and packing shed worker and was the most efficient seamstress for Sierra Bag Co. Our mom took much pride in the cleanliness and maintenance of her home. She cooked with passion and flavor. It was undoubtedly the heart of offering heartfelt affection to her children. She was also devoted to demonstrating her skills in sewing, quilting, crocheting, canning, gardening and inventing whatever necessary to make things "fit or function." She also loved to read various magazines and stayed up with current news. She is survived by 11 beautiful, adult children: Virginia Coronado, Armida Sanchez, Rachel Lee, Cecilio, Jr., Emily Subia, Edward, Nati Puente, Ben, Carmen Romero, Xavier and Christina Nino and 21 grand-children, 14 great grandchildren, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Mom, Grandma ... we will miss you. You will continue to be our inspiration and forever hold a special place in our Hearts. 'Que Dios te Vendiga ama' Viewing will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 4-8 pm, at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA. Mass & Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3 - Mass at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 601 E California Ave., followed by burial at Hillcrest Memorial. www.bakersfield.com/obits
