Amy Kirsten Ardell passed away peacefully in her sleep May 17th, in Bishop, California.
She leaves behind her long time partner Jimmy Roberts and her beloved Airedale Lucy.
Amy was born in Bakersfield, CA March 31st, 1959 and attended Bakersfield schools. She graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University in 1983. Her career path started with Mobil Oil in Ventura, CA, and followed with stints with Bechtel and Occidental Petroleum. She had a tremendous passion for skiing and it was that wanderlust that had her drop everything in Bakersfield and relocate to Mammoth Lakes, CA in 1998. She eventually worked as a water engineer for the community to support her skiing habit and and made many friends in the area. She loved her dogs and her mountains, spending many days hiking and fishing with her Airedales in the beautiful Sierras.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. David and June Ardell of Bakersfield. She is survived by her sisters Ann of Bakersfield, Jan of Pacific Pallisades and brother Bud and his wife Julia of Scottsdale, AZ; nephew JD Ardell of New York, NY and niece Kathlin Ardell of Dallas, TX. Her smile and wit will be missed by all who came to know her.
