Angel Manzano Obituary
Angel Manzano January 11, 1933 - July 3, 2013 Angel was born on January 11, 1933 in Holtville, CA to Victor and Maria Manzano. He went home to be with the Lord on July 3, 2013. Angel originally lived in Imperial Valley, CA. During the 1940's and 50's Angel's family followed the crops from the Imperial Valley to the San Joaquin Valley as farm workers. His family decided to put down roots in Delano, CA. He attended Fremont Elementary School. As a young man he began work in construction. He joined the Laborer's International Union, Local 220 in 1954. On January 8, 1955 Angel married Helen "Nena" Olivas and they had 5 children. Angel was a very hard worker and had a great work ethic. He also had a great sense of humor. Angel is preceded in death by his parents Victor and Maria Manzano; wife Helen Manzano; brothers Victor of Delano, CA and Tony of Bakersfield, CA; sisters Consuelo Morales of El Monte, CA; Jessie Gil of Delano, CA; Mary Miranda of Delano, CA; daughter Sylvia Ann Manzano and granddaughter Arlina Manzano. He is survived by sons Frank Manzano of Los Angeles, CA; Arthur Manzano and wife Guadalupe Manzano of Delano, CA; daughters Margaret Manzano-Uribes of Bakersfield, CA; Cecilia and husband Xavier Ozaeta Jr. of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren Marina and husband Joe Garcia of Bakersfield, CA; Celina Feliscian of Bakersfield, CA; Michael T. Uribes of Fresno, CA; Xavier Ozaeta III of Bakersfield, CA. One great-grandson Christian Agbalog of Bakersfield, CA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 11 at 5:00 pm with Memorial starting at 6:00 pm at Delano Mortuary, 707 Browning Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 12 at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment will follow the mass at North Kern Cemetery. The family would like to express it's gratitude to North Kern-South Tulare Skilled Nursing Facility for their compassionate care and support. www.bakersfield.com/obits
