Angela Andreesen Obituary
Angela Andreesen, only 50 years old, went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2015. Angela passed away peacefully at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles following a month-long illness.
Angela was born on November 21, 1964, in La Jolla, CA. She lived in San Clemente until she was eight years old at which time she came to Bakersfield to be raised by her grandparents, Hilda and Luverne Shatto, who lived in the downtown Westchester area. Angela attended Franklin Elementary School, Emerson Middle School, and Bakersfield High School where she graduated in 1983. She went on to attend CSU Bakersfield where she obtained her degree in public administration in 1989. While attending CSU Bakersfield, Angela began working as an administrative assistant at the Rosedale Rio Bravo Water Storage District. She continued to work there for over 23 years until leaving the work force to be a full-time mom in 2011. In the early 1990s, Angela actively participated in the Ayudantes Auxiliary Chapter of Bakersfield helping to provide assistance to school children. A friend of Angela's in Auydantes introduced her to a man in 1996 trying to set them up for a date. That man was Joel Andreesen. It was love at first sight for both, and their courtship was swift. Angela and Joel were married in October 1998.Angela enjoyed traveling, particularly to Iowa to visit the Andreesen side of the family, as well as backyard BBQ's with her friends, and spending afternoons with her Grandmother playing cards in her later years. Angela especially enjoyed visiting Disneyland with her daughter Jilian and niece Aja as often as possible.
Angela is survived by her husband Joel, and children, Jilian Andreesen and Connor Andreesen. She is also survived by her sister Alyce Chapman; parent-in-laws, John and Jan Andreesen; brother and sister-in-laws John Andreesen Jr.; Jeff and Nancy Andreesen, and Tom and Azza Andreesen; and nieces and nephews, Aja Miller, Aly Schild, Alea Chapman, and Sophie, Jacob, Luke, and Ben Andreesen.

The Andreesens would like to thank the staff at Cedars-Sinai Hospital for their outstanding support and care of Angela during her illness.
