She was born in Bakersfield, CA and raised in Lamont, CA where she attended local schools in the Lamont School District and Arvin High School. She graduated from both San Jose State and the University of Wisconsin where she earned her Bachelors and Master's Degree in Education. She returned to Lamont and became an educator to serve her community. She was an advocate for the children and their families, and she also created and led several programs for the children of the community.
Anna's parents, Ruben and Lupe Valles, and brother Edward Valles preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, her 'Tesoro' of 32 years, Cesar Medina, her daughter Andrea and her children Anna and Enrique, her daughter Lena and husband Christian and their children Kristalen and Christian, her brothers Ruben and Raymond Valles, her sister Adriene Valles and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who were blessed to know her.
The best things in life are NOT earned but given. Along with a very caring heart, God gave Anna an abundance of knowledge, insight, love and wisdom. With her compassionate heart, Anna used her gifts to lovingly serve her family, friends, Church and community.
Her listening ears and focused eyes told you she cared. Her positive personality and warm smile made you feel special. Her passion for the welfare of children and their families stirred complacent hearts into action. Her sincere hugs said, "I love you. It will be alright".
Anna did not judge people by their appearance or personal situation. She knew their life was an ongoing process. Her kindness, generosity and wise counsel left everyone uplifted and encouraged to become an achiever. Anna had a gift that was treasured by all who met her.
It was the precious gift of time...time for you. May those of us who were blessed by Anna's life, continue her legacy by lovingly serving others.
