Anthony Francis Papasergia Obituary
Anthony Francis Papasergia March 26, 1924 - January 22, 2013 Anthony was born in Fargo, ND to Salvatore and Nunziata Papasergia on March 26, 1924. Anthony graduated from St. Anthony's grammar school in 1939 and Fargo Central High in 1943. After high school, Anthony worked for Northern Pacific Railroads in Fargo, ND for 10 years. During this time, Anthony married his lovely wife, June Ingebretson on August 6, 1946 in Moorhead, MN. The couple then moved to Bakersfield, CA in 1953 where Anthony began his employment with Southern Pacific Railroads until his retirement in 1984. Anthony displayed his love of railroads through countless stories and the multi-track train set he built over the course of 5 years. Anthony was a devoted Catholic, and was a Charter Member of the OLPH Italian Catholic Federation, Branch 281. His Catholic background led him to be one of Notre Dame football's greatest fans. Anthony is preceded in death by parents Salvatore and Nunziata Papasergia; daughter Gina Lencioni; sister Jansenia Rosendahl; and brothers Joseph and John Papasergia. ( He was the last of the Papasergia brothers.) Anthony is survived by his wife June Papasergia; sisters Rosena Todahl, Maria Parks, Yolanda Griffiths, and Joan Wallace; daughter Rebecca and son-in-law Joseph Frank; grandchildren Gregory Frank and wife Heather, Shawn Frank and Fiancee, Sarah Kania, Scott Frank and wife Melanie, Sandra Snyder and husband Todd, Jonathan Frank and girlfriend Katie Treichel; great grandchildren Allyson, Grant, Gavin, Austin, Aubrey, and Greysen. The family is forever grateful to the doctors, 5th floor nurses, and support staff at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. January 27th, at Hillcrest Mortuary. Memorial Service is at 11 a.m. January 28th, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 124 Columbus Street, Bakersfield.
