Arthur Cleaton Ryder Arthur Cleaton Ryder, 80, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2012. A devout Catholic, he received the Sacrament of the Sick prior to his passing. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy, his son Robert, his daughter-in-law Marbury, and two grandsons, Phillip, 29, and Matthew, 26. Born and raised in Bakersfield, Art attended the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1954, and met his future bride. He continued to work at various times as a teacher at Rosary High School and as a project consultant with Jacobs Engineering until his complete retirement 10 years ago. Art led a life full of generosity to others. His family and friends celebrate his life and will miss him. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., on June 27, 2012, at Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church in Huntington Beach, California. www.bakersfield.com/obits
