Barbara Jean (Barker) Howard February 5, 1931 - September 11, 2010 Barbara Howard went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 11, 2010 after an extended illness. She was born on February 5, 1931in Catlettsburg, KY and moved to California in 1952. Barbara is survived by seven children, Harvey Howard, Lynn and husband Allen Marantos, Joe and wife Virginia Howard, Tommy and wife Janice Howard, Sally Duggan all of Bakersfield, CA; Robert Howard of Arvin, CA and Mary Jane Howard of Lamont, CA; brothers, Donald and Kenneth Barker of Ashland, KY, James and wife Barbara Freeman, Douglas, Robert and wife Karen Freeman and John Freeman, all of Marion, OH, and Paul and wife Mary Freeman of Vermilan, OH; sister, Loretta and husband Paul Clark of Lorain, OH; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burl Howard of 61 years; mother, Bessie Barker Freeman; father, Dennie Barker I; stepfather, Vergel Freeman; brothers, Dennie Barker Jr., and Phillip Barker. Barbara Jean loved to spend her days with her children and grandchildren and she enjoyed listening to her Christian music. She will be deeply missed!! Chapel service will be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 at, 10:00 a.m. at, Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln.
