Beth Rienzi Obituary
After earning a BA in Psychology, Magna Cum Laude, her MA in Behavioral Science from CSU Bakersfield, and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Dr. Beth Rienzi has spent her nearly 30 year career in higher education, most recently as the Associate Vice President of Faculty Affairs at CSU Bakersfield.
Rienzi is nationally and regionally recognized as a leader in the field of psychology, serving on many professional boards and honorary associations. Rienzi also has served her community as: a consultant for Early Childhood Education Program Home Base/Head Start Programs; organizer and director. She was also a contract researcher and consultant for the CalWORKS Project in conjunction with the California Institute of Mental Health; program evaluator/ program consultant, Kern County Department of Mental Health; Licensed Psychologist & Deafness Specialist for the Tulare County Department of Mental Health. She was in private practice for over six years before beginning her career in education.
As a leader, mentor, and educator in the field of psychology, she has been an advocate for women and girls, most notably as a supporter of the Women and Girls' Fund through the Kern Community Foundation. She organized a group of CSUB women who donate to the Women and Girls' Fund annually in the name of CSUB.
Dr. Rienzi is survived by her wife Judith, four children and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Marley's Mutts, the SPCA or another animal rescue.
