Betty Jean Pace, 86, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 11th, 2014 in Bakersfield, CA.
Betty was born on February 26th, 1928 in Mulberry, Arkansas to William Alva and Clara Delliah Morse. On June 5, 1948, Betty married her sweetheart, Hershel Odell Pace, husband of 60 years. She was a homemaker and helped Hershel for many years with his rental properties. She really enjoyed baking, sewing, and crocheting. Mom was a devout Christian who was involved in many churches within the Kern Valley. She loved Jesus Christ with all her heart. She was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. Betty loved being called Little Grandma and always having her great-grandchildren around.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Hershel Odell Pace, three sisters, two brothers, her grandson, Timothy Don Pace, and son-in-law, George Jones. She is survived by: son, Vernon and wife, Rosia of Grand Junction, CO; daughter, LaVon Jones of Fernley, NV; son, Merrill and wife, Carla of Bakersfield, CA; son, Gerald and wife, Debra of Glade Park, CO; grandchildren: Jeff and wife, Caley, Eric and wife, Megan, Sondra, Heather and husband, Steven, and Brittany and husband, Jehova; great-grandchildren: Micah, Michala, Mikinley, Logan, Madison, Shelby, Colton, and Alivia, and her great-grandbaby on the way.
Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Sunday, November 16th, at Hillcrest Mortuary. Funeral Services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17th, at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel with graveside services immediately following at Greenlawn Southwest on Panama Lane. Grandma we love you very much and you will always be our Little Grandma!
Thank you to all our family and friends for your support during this time. Lastly, a special thanks to Hoffmann Hospice for making mom comfortable in her final days. You made this a smoother transition for our family.
