Betty Louise (Warren) Workman Obituary
Betty Louise (Warren) Workman was born in Weldon, California on October 8, 1940. She went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2015 after a 14 year battle with cancer which she courageously fought with such dignity and had a positive outlook on life. Betty attended East Bakersfield High School class of 1958 and enjoyed many years working at Pioneer Mercantile and waitressing at Mossman's Catering and The Elk's Lodge. She went on to retire as a Registered Dental Assistant for Melvin Cochran DDS for 22 years where she developed many lifelong friends and inherited the name Sweet Betty.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother Esther Griffith, stepdad Eddie Griffith, father Virgil Warren and sister Gearldine Dillard. She is survived by her loving husband Gary Workman of 32 years and stepchildren David, Tracy and Michael and two children by Charles Henson, her first husband of 17 years, daughter Dana (Henson) Munson and husband Ed, Mima's precious grandchildren Leilani and Koa and son Ray Henson, John Figueroa, Cheryl Hernandez, Janiene Friend, Darlene (McCown) Duncan, brothers Junior and Dee Dee Warren, and many other special family and friends.
Services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. and viewing Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield CA.
Our Sweet Betty will be greatly missed, she was a true inspiration to everyone she met.
