Beverly Winston, 70, passed away after a struggle with rheumatoid arthritis and cancer on February 28th. She was born November 16, 1945 to Nathaniel and Valdiereese King. She attended local schools and graduated from Bakersfield High in 1964. In April 1969, she accepted the Lord as her Savior, which changed her life.
She graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor's Degree in 1973 and a Master of Arts Degree n 1975. She returned to Bakersfield, was a substitute teacher and worked at the Employment Development Department for over 25 years. She loved teaching, helping and coaching people. She had an insatiable desire for knowledge, was an avid reader and loved to share that knowledge. Beverly believed in the power of prayer. She travelled extensively throughout the United States and prayed for all who would allow her, no matter the time or place.
Beverly was at peace at her passing. She is survived by: mother Val Robinson, daughters Tanya and Tashawn Winston, grandchildren Julian and Chase Wheeler, sister, brothers, extended family and friends whom she loved greatly.
