Bobbie (O'Day) Adams Obituary

Bobbie (O'Day) Adams, passed away on June 9th 2016 in Bakersfield, CA.

Funeral service will be held at Christ the King Church on Friday, June 17th at 9am. Burial/interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary.

Bobbie was born in San Francisco to Ray and Regina O'Day on October 25, 1935. The family moved to Bakersfield where she attended and was a cheerleader at Garces Memorial High School, Bobbie graduated in 1953. She married Richard Adams in 1957 and worked as a dental nurse for several years before retiring to become a full time mom; and what a job that was! If you ever had the pleasure of opening a present from Richard's Toy Store with a ribbon and sucker on it, be assured it was wrapped and placed there with love and care by Bobbie. From JBA and Jack Frost days to feeding hungry Scotsmen and Renegades, most recently attending Garces games and theatre productions were the passions of her life. Missed will be her PB&J's (with trimmed buttered crust on the side) and her world famous Subrag!

Bobbie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard Adams, children Steve and Jeff, daughter in law Desiree, grandchildren Jaden and Cruise, sisters Susie (Tom) Edwards and Sharon Rice, brother in law Paul (Susan) Adams and several nieces and nephews.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Regina O'Day, mother and father in law Henry and Doris Adams, Auntie Patricia O'Day, daughter in law Jonette Adams and brother in law Albert Rice.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Garces Memorial High School Preforming Arts and Athletic Departments. The family wishes to thank the caring ICU staff at San Joaquin Hospital and the Palliative Care doctors at Kaiser Permanente.
