Bony Morony Keogh Obituary
Bony was on death row at the County/City Animal Shelter in June 2002 when Marilyn Stewart of ALPHA Canine Sanctuary found this exuberant, feisty, beautiful girl who was begging for a chance to go to a family's home. Marilyn knew that Bony could find one quickly if given the chance. Marilyn and Ann Marie Carbin brought Bony to PetSmart on Oswell at exactly the same time that Liz Keogh was shopping for dog food for her other furry family members. The deal was closed very quickly; Bony had found her home for the next 13 years.
Bony spent her time romping around with the other dogs in the Keogh household. But eventually, age caught up with her and she wasn't having fun anymore. She made it clear that she wanted to go to Rainbow Bridge.
On 9 July 2015 at 4:30 pm, Dr Lehnhard at Stockdale Vet, where Bony had received care for many years from Dr Van Kopp, lovingly provided Bony the walking shoes (or maybe it was wings) that she needed to get to the Bridge. In addition to Dr Lehnhard and Liz, Bony's good friend Diane, also at Stockdale Vet, was present as she started her voyage.
Thanks to the kindness of Lt Mike Hale of the Bakersfield Police Department, Bony got first-class accommodations for her trip to the Bridge and for the manner in which she will be remembered by everyone who knew and loved her.
Donations in Bony's memory and honor can be sent to ALPHA Canine Sanctuary, P O Box 5517, Bakersfield 93388-5517.
