Carol Sue Dobbs

1940 - 2019 Obituary Condolences

October 2, 1940 - January 2, 2019

Carol passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, her children at her side. We are all grateful for the love and grace we witnessed during her illness and passing. Carol was born in Pampa, Texas, moved to Bakersfield in 1947 when her father took a job with the US Postal Service. Carol attended North High school class of 1958, After graduation she moved to San Francisco to study fashion and design. While in San Francisco, she met Ata Nik-Khah, married and had two children David and Susan. Later in life she met Hubert Dobbs and married in 1968.

Carol loved to sew and became an incredible seamstress. She had a loyal following for her work, always getting it out on time and with pride. Often she would tell a client when it would be ready for pick up and before the day was done they would receive a call telling them their item was ready for pick up. Carol will always be remembered for hosting fabulous Thanksgiving dinner for her family and friends. For 48 years she prepared the family meal. Carol instilled the value of family and to be kind and loving. One year at Thanksgiving, Carol was given her very own parade by her family. The family members arrived early and performed a surprise parade for her to view from her balcony before the meal. Carol was kind, generous and humble helping in her community always behind the scenes. Carol fought on to cherish Christmas and New Years together with her family and for that we will always be grateful.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Marie Myers. Left to cherish her memories is her son David Dobbs and wife Amara, daughter Susan Heflin and husband Tom, Grandchildren Kalyn and Daniel Dobbs, Alex and Maxx Heflin and Great Grand daughter Peyton Heflin and numerous cousins and friends. Our family wants to give special thanks for the special care she received by Amara, Tamera and countless friends that came to visit and assist with her care. We want to thank all those who prayed for Carol for she told us she felt all the prayers and that she did not know how much she was loved and by so many. We wish to thank Dr. Luis Cousin and Dr. Ravi Patel for their care of Carol and the team at Hoffman Hospice and Around The Clock. Our family is truly blessed. Remember to always have an attitude of Gratitude.

Please join us in a celebration of life Sunday, January 13th at 1:30pm at Rosewood 1301 New Stine Road, in Bakersfield.
