Carole Christine Brown December 19, 1948 - September 19, 2013 Born in Bakersfield, California on December 19, 1948 to the late Benjamin Piceno and Cora Moya, Carole left us to be with the Lord on September 19, 2013. Preceded in death by her father and her son Lance, Carole is survived by her mother; her husband Dennis Brown; her brother Thomas (Martha); her sister Rachel (Michael); her children Hugh McMahon IV (Lori), Lisa Chavez (Richard), Craig McMahon Sr. (Lisa), Vicki Menke (Greg), Michael Brown (Renee) and Tanya Heintschel. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her husband, her family and friends. Carole culminated a twenty-five year career as a title officer and escrow officer as a partner of Central California Escrow. She served as President of the Central California Escrow Association and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She was an active member of Saint Francis Church. Her passion was following, supporting, and participating in her children and grandchildren's exploits and achievements. She was immensely proud of each of them and her unwavering support drove them to succeed. She loved the culinary arts and was an accomplished chef and baker who took every opportunity to provide a feast for the family or a birthday cake for one of her grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Saint Francis Church on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. followed by the rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. There will be a memorial mass held at Saint Francis Church at 10:00 a.m. Friday immediately followed by a reception at the church and then a burial ceremony will take place at Bakersfield National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Saint Francis Church of Bakersfield in Carole's name. www.bakersfield.com/obits
