Caryl Roberts-Stiner, age 87, died on January 15, 2014 surrounded by loved ones in Bakersfield, California. Caryl was born to JE and Kathryn Williams on August 11, 1926 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Caryl then met and married the love of her life, John Roberts. Together, they raised four daughters: Jackie, Pamela, Laurie, and Kathy.
Caryl and her husband John moved to Bakersfield in 1979, where they started a new adventure. Caryl worked as a bookkeeper for nearly 30 years, before enjoying her retirement. Years after the passing of her husband, John, in 1985, Caryl later re-married her church-mate, Woody Stiner.
Caryl was a devout Christian, and a dedicated member of Grace Lutheran church. Caryl enjoyed participating in fundraising and other church activities. She made many dear friends through the church, and spoke of each dearly. Margaret Nelson was one of her dearest friends, sharing in their love for Christ and fellowship.
Caryl loved her family, and enjoyed spending time with each of them. She also enjoyed sewing, golfing, crocheting, and spending time with her beloved dogs, Jasper and Kobe.
She was preceded in death by her father JE, mother Katherine, husbands John and Woody, and daughter Jackie. She is survived by her loving daughters: Pamela, Laurie and Kathy, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Caryl leaves a legacy of love and compassion, and a remembrance of her gentle kindness. Together, Caryl and her family have created beautiful memories that will never be forgotten.
A private family gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 2630 Drake Street, 93301.
