Charles W. Prunty Sr.

Charles W. Prunty, Sr. passed away on January 4, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on March 25, 1921 in Litchfield, Kentucky to Bethel and Barbara Prunty.
He was preceded in death by Verdia Prunty (wife) and numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sister Burnett Klepzig of Georgetown, Texas; Children: Linda Prunty, Charles Prunty, Jr. and Rita Olsen; Grandchildren: Sheree Jackson, Matthew Olsen, Megan Stone, Amy Olsen and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He enlisted and served in the Army/Air Corps from early 1941-1946. During WWll he was a gunner/co-pilot on the B-25 Mitchell in the Pacific Theater. Charles married the love of his life Verdia in 1946. They moved to Bakersfield, California in 1950 from Illinois. Charles worked in the beer/beverage business for 35 years. He retired from W.A. Thompson Distributing Co. (Coors Beer) after 28 years of service. Charles loved the Lord, church, working in his garden, fishing and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 8th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and graveside services will be held on Friday, January 9th at 2:00pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home on River Blvd.
