She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, Ofviey Alfred ("Al") Ashbrook, Jr.; and her only brother, Lloyd E. Case. A loving mother, she is survived by her six children, Stephanie Antongiovanni (Ron), Debra Ashbrook, Rebecca Hagenston (Kim), Christine Gibson (Bob), Kim Ashbrook, and Mark Ashbrook (Carol); as well as 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlotte enlisted in the Marine Corps during World War II. After she and Al finished their military service, they were married, starting their family shortly thereafter. Charlotte worked both in and out of the home, ending her career after 20 years as the secretary with the Sheet Metal Workers Union. After retirement, she and Al enjoyed long trips in their motor home. Throughout her life, she also enjoyed singing, playing tennis, and spending time with her large family. Special thanks to Ira and Gladys for their wonderful care during her last years. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in Charlotte's name to your local S.P.C.A.
