Charlotte Virginia Carlon Obituary
Charlotte Virginia Carlon November 4, 1924 - May 25, 2012 Our mother Charlotte Carlon passed away quietly at home on Friday, May 25th, at the age of 87. She had been battling congestive heart failure and renal disease for the past two years. Mom was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Tommy Carlon. She is survived by her seven children, Bob (Dawn) Carlon, RoseAnn Pilling, Ron (Tammy) Carlon, Tim (Kathy) Carlon, Rose Marie (Leroy) Grider, Donnie (Tina) Carlon and Rita (Dan) Salcido. She was known lovingly as Gram, Grandma and GG by her 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one more great-granddaughter due in June. She also leaves behind her brother Caterino Aguirre and her sister-in-law Ann Garcia. In addition to raising her own children, Mom's home was always open to anyone who needed a bite to eat, a place to stay and a sympathetic ear to listen. Every stray animal could always find a place in her heart. All this she did with love and no judgment. Some of her favorite pastimes were going to the casino, watching her Dodgers, all game shows and spending time with her kids. The Viewing will be held on Thursday May 31st, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with Rosary, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane, in the new chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, June 1st at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 9915 Ramos Street. www.bakersfield.com/obits
