Chester Norman Wright was born on January 15, 1938 in Bakersfield, California passed away on October 29, 2014 in Bakersfield. Chet was the eleventh of twelve children from Harry and Maizie Wright. Chet grew up on a farm in East Bakersfield where he attended Fairfax elementary, and graduated from East High School in 1955.
Chester married the love of his life Rose Nell Wright in 1958 and joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 1959. Passionate about his job, Chet's favorite assignment was flying the LAPD helicopter. Retiring from the LAPD in 1976, he and Nell moved their family to Greenhorn Mountain.
In 1979 they resided permanently in Bakersfield where he assisted the Kern County Sheriff's Dept. in forming the helicopter program. After several years he retired and lived out the remainder of his life doing what he loved cycling, horseback riding on his horse Clark, and hiking on Greenhorn Mountain.
Chet is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Maizie Wright, as well as, his brothers and sisters Helen, Lucille, and Vada Wright. Marvalie Foster, Catherine Wilburn, Arlene Cole ,Maxine Banducci, Maurice and Harry Wright. Chet is survived by his wife Rose Nell Wright, children Nathan Wright Sr., Polly and Tom Pinnell. Grandchildren, Nathan Wright Jr., Kyle and Lori Wright, Brogan and Kristopher Mulhause. Great grandchildren, Kayden and Avery Wright, and Emerson Mulhause. Brother Emil Wright and Sister Elaine Alexander.
Private services will be held.
