Christopher K. Bardet November 13, 1955 - December 4, 2013 Christopher Bardet, 58, passed away December 4, 2013 in Bakersfield, CA after a long battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). Chris was born November 13, 1955 in Berkeley, CA to Thomas and Beverley Bardet. He attended UC Davis where he met his wife, Linda, and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1977. Chris spent his professional life in petroleum engineering working alongside good friends at Getty Oil in Ventura, Texaco, and Chevron for over 35 years while never missing more than two days of work. Chris had a passion for riding his bike and spending time outdoors. He could be seen every weekday riding his bike to and from work, rain or shine. His family will always remember camping adventures, trips to Tahoe, and La Selva Beach vacations. He was a DIY handyman and endlessly tinkered in the garage fixing old things. Without doubt, he was devoted to his family, both near and far. Chris will be missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda, and his children Ryan, Eric, wife Maria, Kyle, and Annie. He leaves behind his brothers and their wives, Mark and Wendy, Kyle and Pam, Glenn and Cathy, and Drew and Leslie and in-laws Charlie and Loretta, John and Christine, and Mike and Carol. Numerous nieces and nephews have each claimed him to be their favorite uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Rosary and Mass will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church at 9:30am. Interment will follow at a later date in Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in remembrance to the Golden West ALS Association via http://webgw.alsa.org/goto/chrisbardet. www.bakersfield.com/obits
