Christopher Michael Gonzales Obituary
Christopher Michael Gonzales 1976 - 2012 A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 27, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 900 "H" Street, for Christopher Michael Gonzales, who passed away April 16, 2012, in Bakersfield. Chris was born October 30, 1976, and lived his entire life in Bakersfield. He attended Hort Elementary, Compton Junior High, and was a graduate of Foothill High School. Gifted with extraordinary talent, Chris' artistry was a source of pleasure and inspiration. He had the ability to look at something and be able to draw or etch it to amazing detail. His skilled craftsmanship with production and installation made him a prized employee at Carlos Shower Doors. The youngest of three children, Chris lived each day with an infectious smile, a happy-go-lucky spirit and a zest for life. An outdoorsman who loved being one with nature and especially by the water, whether he was alongside a jetty, canal or river with a fishing pole in hand, he enjoyed countless hours on special father-son fishing trips to their favorite 'secret' spots. He also cherished his many adventures with his children. His talents even extended to the grill, where Chris loved to barbecue and create unique sauces. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents James V. Gonzales, Nena C. and Carlos Amado. Those left to treasure his memory are his children Christopher Drake, Sydney, Melia and Christina Gonzales; his parents Loni Amado and Philip A. Gonzales, and grandmother Josephine Gonzales; brothers Phillip C. Calvillo and Philip Gonzales Jr., and sisters Shelbi Calvillo and Valerie Bartlett, nephews, nieces, and his beloved Siberian Husky and constant companion, Xanatos. Chris left this world too soon, but will remain in our hearts forever. www.alifesstory.com www.bakersfield.com/obits
