Claire Marie Cervantes Obituary
Our loving wife and mother Claire passed away after a two year battle with cancer. We thank God that she is no longer in any pain. In peace I know she lives in everlasting life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Claire was born and raised in Bakersfield, California, where she attended local schools, and graduated from Highland High School, class of 1994. In school she made friendships that lasted the rest of her life. I thank all of you for your prayers and kind words.
She was full of life and showed it by her faith in God, never ever giving up. The way she lived her life will have a lifetime effect on us. Forever in our thoughts, hearts and minds. We love and miss you so much.
Claire's mission in life was to be a wife and mother and she excelled at it. She would often say that was the only thing she was meant to be. In everything she did she put her family first.
Claire loved to do many things in life. Her favorites were traveling to Disneyland, Morro Bay or Sequoia National Park, eating seafood, Italian or Mexican food, baking yummy desserts, her flowers, shopping, antiques and spending time with her family. She was a chocoholic, a Disney fanatic (she loved Mickey Mouse) and she loved her Catholic faith.
She will forever be loved by Jesse, her husband of 17 years; her children, Matthew, Catherine (meow-mix), Brandon, Toby and baby Joseph; her parents, Mary and Kurt Legleiter, Mike and Connie Garcia and Margaret and Santos Cervantes; her many brothers and sisters, Ryan, Angie (Scott) and their son and daughter who grew up with Claire (Amanda and Cameron), Donovan (Heather), Steven (Tina), Mike, John, Peter (Erica), Sandra, Reuben (Anita); her special and loving grandmothers, Lola Pesina and Alex Beadle; aunts and uncles, Victor, Lucy, Alice, Michael and Augustine; her best friend forever, Jamie Cofield Defoor along with many more uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews who forever touched her life.
Thank you to all our family, friends and my M.P. family during this very difficult time. Thank you to Dr. Ciarolla, Dr. Ahmed, Dr. Parmar and all the special staff who helped her these two years. Thank you ICU staff at Memorial who gave great care for my wife on her last day here. God bless you all.
Viewing will be held Sunday, June 29th, from 4:00 to 8:00pm with a Rosary from 6:00 to 7:00pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home (3700 River Blvd.). Mass will be held on Monday, June 30th, at 10:00am, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (1515 Baker St.). Burial to follow at Greenlawn Funeral Home with a reception to follow 12:30 to 2:30pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in the hall.
