Clarence Abeling Hansen


Clarence Abeling Hansen passed away in Morro Bay, California at the age of 91 on Monday, February 9, 2015. Chuck was born in May, 1923 and grew up in Medford, Oregon. He served in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Then he attended UCLA where he met his future wife, Weltha Borel, at a school dance. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Business, Chuck and Weltha moved to Delano, California where they raised their family.
Chuck worked in the local bank, eventually becoming the branch manager. Later he had a career as a real estate broker and investment counselor specializing in farm properties. In the mid-1980s, Chuck and Weltha retired to Cayucos, California where they enjoyed many years on the central coast.
Chuck will be missed by his wife of 69 years Weltha Hansen, daughter Beverly Rubino, son Steve Hansen and wife Kay Hansen, grandson Brian Rubino, grandson Michael Hansen, grandson Andrew Hansen and wife Madison Hansen, and the many other friends and family he touched with his kind heart and quick smile. Chuck lived a rich life and will always be loved and remembered as a good friend and a warm and caring family man.
A private memorial service will be held in his remembrance.
