Darlene Phyllis Cabaniss Obituary
Darlene was one of five children born in Casper, Wyoming to Charles and Orline Picco. Lloyd Picco was her eldest brother, followed by Darlene, Phil Picco, Danny Picco, and Ann Picco.
Darlene was an amazing bookkeeper and business woman. She worked for the family business, Picco Sheet Metal, until she went to work for and married Carl Cabaniss, the owner of Griffen Steel. One of the best memories with her husband, Carl, and their business was the construction and installation of the "BAKERSFIELD" sign over Union Avenue.
Darlene loved animals, nature, traveling the world, and a good round of golf. Weekly lunch dates with her close friends was something she looked forward to. She was known by all for her warm smile, her quick wit and humor, her love of laughter, her strong will, her listening ear, and her kind hearted generosity. Her greatest love was her relationship with her God, Jehovah. She looked forward to the fulfillment of the Bible's promise of a paradise here on earth and the excitement of seeing her parents and brothers again in the resurrection.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3rd, 11:30am, at 2701 Columbus St., at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Darlene will be dearly missed, but never forgotten!
