David Allen Johnson Obituary
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.) from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel at 11:00 a.m. for David Allen Johnson, 44, who went to be with the Lord on August 3rd, 2015. Rev. William Underwood will officiate.
David was born April 18, 1971 in Bakersfield, Ca. to Harvey and Shirley Johnson and resided in Bakersfield at the time of his death.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harvey G. Johnson in 1988 and his sister, Donna G. Burchett in 2011. David is survived by his daughter, Ariel and Andrew Rahder; 2 grandsons, Demetri and Harrison Rahder; his mother, Shirley Johnson; 2 sisters, Sharon and Bill Underwood, Barbara and Tim Gonzales; 3 brothers, Steve and Carol Johnson, Gerald and Terri Johnson, Gary Johnson and a Friend that he considered like a brother, Wesley and Wendy Wilson and many other family and friends.
David passed away from a sudden illness, but before he left this world he made sure that he was ready to meet the Lord. If we could describe David, we would say he was Kindness, Compassion and he unconditionally loved everyone. David never walked away without saying "I Love You" he was a helping hand to anyone in need. David enjoyed the many times he and his brothers would fix and re-build cars, their many talks and times hanging out together. Wesley was delivering and storing for Dryers Ice Cream at Kern Ice when he met David's family. After David's father passed away he became like Wesley's younger brother and he and David enjoyed the trips they made to the coast, along with Gerald and Gary watching the fights on TV. David had a beautiful singing voice and learned to play guitar from his brother Steve. He also loved to write a few songs like his older brother Steve. David loved his sisters dearly and worried and cared about them and their health, his family and especially his dear Mother. David's most cherished and prized possession was his daughter Ariel and his two little grandsons. He said he would never have to worry about them because he knew that his son-in-law Andrew would take good care of them. David had worked for Kern Ice and Cold Storage for many years following in his Father's footsteps until he had to retire. He later made deliveries for Ozuna Meat Co. and Matt Cross who nicknamed him hammer/ at Cross Distributing.
David will be deeply missed. He showed love to everyone and could make your day if you were feeling depressed. Another link in our chain is missing but one day we will all be back together with the Lord forever, and the chain will be complete again.
