David Benson Dailey Obituary
David Benson Dailey was born on October 14th, 1947 to parents Alvin and Margaret Criner Dailey in Bakersfield, California. He attended local schools and graduated from South High School in 1965. David worked for Hopper, Inc., Chevron, Inc. (Cymric Division) and retired from Air Liquide. He loved his family very much and especially enjoyed taking part in his children's various sporting activities. Aside from being involved in sports himself, he took pride in his woodworking projects.
David is predeceased in death by his loving parents and sister, Shirley Fein. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna Dailey of Bakersfield; son, Matthew Dailey of Bakersfield; daughters, Jamie Blongastainer and husband David of Mesa, Arizona, Tracey Dailey of Fresno, California, and April Dailey of Bakersfield. David is also survived by three granddaughters: Jessica, Emily, and Elizabeth. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister, Beverly Carter of Santa Rosa, California and mother-in-law, Ella Gerecke of Bakersfield along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at San Joaquin Hospital, Healthsouth, The Rehabilitation Center of Bakersfield and especially Dr. Aguirre and RN Martha Barreto at Kern Medical Center's trauma unit for their kind and compassionate care for both the family and David.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, March 22nd from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Mission Family Mortuary. Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 23rd at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
