David Richard Lundy Jr. Obituary

David Richard Lundy, Jr. passed away August 15th of heart failure at his home in Paso Robles, CA. Dick was the son of David Richard and Clara Mae Lundy. He was born in Gilroy and raised in Bakersfield. He attended Bakersfield High School and later received his undergraduate degree from UC Davis.

Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Dana and his five children (Kay Storrs, Bo Lundy, Jaima Cook, Julie Diffenbaugh and Mark Lundy), their spouses, eight (8) grandchildren, his brother Jim Lundy and sister Anne Kirkpatrick.

Dick was a third generation farmer educated in agriculture and enjoyed working the land, but his greatest passion was the cattle business. That passion was evident in his work ethic and was reflected in doing what he loved most, being a cattleman. Dick was well-read and had a constant drive to learn more and improve himself, his livestock and the land he worked. He was proud of his family and it showed. He was the patriarch of our family and will be deeply missed for his strong opinions, wagging finger, deep voice and larger than life personality.

A private service will be held to honor his life. Please feel free to reach out to the family member you are closest with for a drink and toast to Dick. Dad, you will be missed, but always hold a special place in our hearts.
