Debra Charlene Hill Obituary
Debra Charlene Hill 1974 - 2013 We are all mourning the loss of our sweet wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Debra Charlene Hill was born March 24, 1974 to Eddie and Jessie Charlene Lane in Bakersfield, California. Debra attended local elementary schools and graduated from Shafter High with the class of 1992. Debra went to work at Shafter Stringham's Drugstore while attending Bakersfield College. Debra then went to work for Foster Farms, and then later at ELK Corporation. Debra married her high school sweetheart Jeremy Hill September 5, 1992. Debra enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafts, and volunteering time with her children in their classrooms. Debra loved her children very much and was a very loyal mother. In 2010 her son was diagnosed with Advenoleukodystrophy (ALD). Debra fought so hard for her son to receive not one, but two bone marrow transplants to save his life. Debra devoted the next three years to making everyone more aware of this disease. Debra loved attending her children's events and was always there to cheer them on. Debra enjoyed listening to her daughter play the flute at church or during band performances. Debra became ill in 2004 with a heart disease and started the fight against cancer in 2012 but would not let it slow her down and always had a smile to brighten your day. No matter how she felt, her family always came first. Debra never turned anyone away who needed her help. She was loved by all and will be missed greatly. Debra truly lived her life for Jesus; she read her bible daily and loved to share her faith. Debra was a member of the Congregational Bible Church in Shafter for 22 years. Debra is survived by her husband Jeremy Edward Hill Sr. of Bakersfield, her daughter Meagan Nicole Hill, and son, Jeremy Edward Hill Jr.; sister, Kimberly Smith and her husband Steve Smith of Shafter; brother, Billy D. Braisher of Bakersfield; cousins, Becky Lane of Bakersfield and Heather Wilton of Bakersfield; many nieces and nephews that she loved deeply. Debra was preceded in death by her parents Eddie Lane and Jessie Lane. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregational Bible Church for Debra Hill, 39, who passed away May 10th. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home.
