Del Rae "Della" Forgues Culp October 6, 1925 - May 12, 2013 Della passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 12, 2013. She was 87. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Culp. She is survived by their 4 children: Joe, Ernie, Katy and Jim, sister Peggy Hinkle of Roseburg, OR, and her very dear and beloved companion of 13 years, Donald Robinson of Bakersfield. She was a loving grandma to her 6 grandchildren: Evan, Elliott, and Eli Culp; Natassia Culp, and Tyler and Jason Simmons. Della was born to John and Mae Forgues in Bakersfield, CA. She and James married in 1946. Jim attended San Jose State University while Della worked as a librarian on campus. They settled in Los Gatos 49 years ago. Della was gregarious, friendly, bright and giving. An avid sports fan, she loved the Giants, 49ers, and Tiger Woods. She loved to read was a great cook, enjoying big family dinners. She also loved spending August camping, fishing, and playing cards with family and friends on the Klamath River. After the death of her husband in 1999, she began her world travels. She and her best friend, Don, traveled to 24 countries on 5 continents. A celebration of life service was held in May with family and close friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those that knew her best. She will be dearly missed.
