Della Marie Davis Obituary
Della Marie Davis September 15, 1925 - July 10, 2012 Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15th, from 12:00 to 5:00pm at the Arvin Funeral Home in Arvin on Tucker Street. Services will be held Monday, July 16th, 9:00am at the Arvin Cemetery for long time Arvin resident, Della Marie Davis. Della was born September 15, 1925 in Tucker, Oklahoma to John and Lela Gist. She went to her eternal home on July 10, 2012. Della was a wonderful Christian woman. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. We are all saddened by our loss. The good news is what we lost, God gained. An angel was added to His roll on that day. We all like to think of her giving Grandpa Walt a long overdue hug, holding the hand of her daughter Sharon, raising a ruckus with her siblings: Mattie, Euna, Frank, Bob and Butler. She is playing "Pea Pie" with her Lindsay and doing the bunny hop with her sweet mother, Lela. Among Della's many interests were cake decorating, making and painting ceramics, quilting, sewing and gardening. She was an all around handy person who loved to be outdoors. Della was preceded in death by her first husband of 33 years, Walt Davis, daughter Sharon Johnson, son-in-law Leonard Johnson, step-granddaughter Lindsay, Her siblings Mattie Millay, Euna Suttor, Frank Gist, Bob Gist and Butler Gist. Della is survived by her second husband of 3 years, Cal Baker, her son Glen Davis and wife Sharon, daughter Betty Perkins and husband Ray. Her siblings J.D Gist and wife Ruby of Oklahoma, Alice Gibson and husband Harold of Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Trina and Bradley Reese, Kim and Tim Pearson, Lori and Ray Pearson, Scott and Kenya Davis, Karen Cox and Dominic Kirkendall. Great-grandchildren Hannah, Noah, Brittany, Ryan, Daniel, Dylan, Savannah, Brock, Kelly, G.W., Tyler and Colbey. Great-great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Jordan. Grandma, we will all miss you greatly! Our memories will have to keep us going until we see you again. Until we meet again, we all Love you Sweetie! www.bakersfield.com/obits
