Donald E. Brown February 19, 1931 - June 3, 2012 Don was born to Frank and Ernestine "Toodie" (Stephens) Brown on February 19, 1931 in Bakersfield, CA. He was welcomed into the family by his sister Imogene. He grew up in the oil leases North of the River, and attended Aztec Elementary, Standard Jr. High, and was a graduate of Bakersfield High School class of 1949. He was a great dancer, and met his love, Lorraine Wigginton at a high school dance. They were married April 19, 1952 while he was in the Air Force. They had one child, a daughter, Victoria, born in 1954. Don got his first gun at age 11 and continued a love of hunting until the end. He began skeet shooting after retirement, and made many friends in his association with Kern County Gun Club and the Poor Boys Skeet Range. Don worked for many years in the oil business at the old Tosco Refinery, but in 1969 began his business as a Custom Hay Harvester. He and Lorraine were able to travel many times in the winter off-season, and they enjoyed cruises with friends. Don is preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Leroy and V. Wigginton, brother in law, Don Wigginton, sister in law, Kay Wigginton, and his very close friends Bunky Durham and Dick Stotler. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, daughter Vicci and husband David Snyder, granddaughter Caitlyn Snyder and her fiancee Josh Hall, and Meaghan Snyder, as well as his great-grandson, Carter Hall. Additionally, his sister Gene (Alvin) Millett and their children, Cheryl Moore, Frank Millett, and Martin (Sharon) Millett; brother-in-law Leroy Wigginton and his family Mark (Sandy) Wigginton, Scott (Laura) Wigginton, and Lynn Wigginton; sister-in-law, Glenda Wigginton, and her children, Tomoe Lombard, Suzanne (Jack Coulehan), Wigginton and Andrew (Shannon) Wigginton, as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews, several cousins, and many, many friends from skeet shooting. Don was a member of Al Maleikah Shrine, Caledonia Masonic Lodge, and Kern County Shrine Club. The Family would like to thank all the staff at Da Vita Dialysis on White Lane, as well as Dr. Albert Peinado and Dr. Saraphun Hansa for taking care of Don for the past two years. Masonic services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 3:00 p.m., preceded at 1:30 by a viewing, at Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara Funeral Home.
