Donna Marie Crews Obituary
Donna Marie Crews 2/11/40 - 7/1/13 Donna Marie Crews went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2013, with family at her side. Donna was born on February 11, 1940, in Los Angeles, California. She attended George Washington High School in Los Angeles. She moved to Bakersfield in 1969. Donna was a true Proverbs 31 woman of God! She touched many lives with her love and compassion for others. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader and a Teacher's Aid for many years at Munsey Elementary School. Donna also worked as a medical transcriptionist for 30 years at many Bakersfield hospitals, including Mercy Hospital, where she received honors as Employee Of The Month. She was also a 20-year member of Chevy Limited Car Club, where her and her husband, Norm, enjoyed showing off their 1957 Chevy! Her love of babies led her to become the Nursery Director of Valley Bible Fellowship, where she served for 20 years. Donna will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother to all who knew her. She thrived on keeping her six children busy, enduring years of 4-H beef and sheep projects and endless nights at the Greenfield baseball and softball fields. Donna is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Norm Crews; sons and their wives, Ron and Cheryl Crews, Paul Crews, and Jim and Tara Crews; daughter, Cheryl Pieri; daughter and husband, Cathy and Nick Musacchio; 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and their husbands, Deanna and Bob Henderson, and Suzi and Gene Holtz. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Charlene Crews, grandson, Joshua Wines, and parents, Hap and Catherine Ruggles. The family wants to say a special thank you to Lupe and Lori of Hoffman Hospice for their excellent care in time of need. The family also wants to invite all of Donna's friends to come celebrate her life with them on Saturday, July 6, at 10:00am, at Valley Bible Fellowship, 2300 East Brundage Lane, Bakersfield, CA. Pastor Ron Vietti and Pastor Jim Crews will be officiating the service. There will be a reception immediately following. www.bakersfield.com/obits
