DOROTHY ALVINA TEMPLE

1916 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
DOROTHY ALVINA TEMPLE Obituary
Dorothy was born in Edholm, Nebraska and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Bakersfield, CA. She grew up as a farm girl in western Nebraska where she met her city boy, Russell Temple. They fell in love and were married on September 26, 1934. Soon after their marriage they moved to California where Russell pursued his business career. Dorothy flourished as a stay-at-home mother and housewife. Her hobbies included sewing, interior design, baking, oil painting, arts and crafts. She loved to shop and could find the best bargains out there. She had a real appreciation for pretty things - tea cups, vases, porcelain dolls, fabrics and knick-knacks. She was also actively involved in her church, the PTA and volunteered at numerous clubs and organizations.
She and Russell enjoyed music and loved to dance, especially ballroom and square dancing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her three sons, Roger Jean, Brian Lloyd and Stewart Craig; her father and mother, Lloyd and Martha Tilden; her brother, Henry Tilden; and sisters, Carolyn McWilliams and Ruth Hood. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Hass and her husband, Randy; her daughter, Marlisa Temple; her grandchildren, Casey, Curtis and Kye Skidgel and their wives, Yvonne, Jessica and Stephanie; and her great-grandson, Xan Davon Skidgel.
To all who knew Mom and treasured her as much as we did, we thank you. We will miss her but how blessed we were to have been loved by her. The family would like to thank the Hoffmann Hospice Home for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Dorothy, the family and her friends.
