Dottie Lou Lewis September 9, 1924 - July 22, 2013 Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 5 p.m. At the chapel of the Cecil Martin Family Funeral Care, 701 34th St. Bakersfield, Ca. Steve Ogden will officiate. Dottie Lou Lewis, 88, born in Bremerton, Washington, passed away on July 22, 2013. Her loving husband, Bill T. Lewis of Bakersfield also survives her. Dottie and Bill met one another, In Bremerton, Washington at the Naval Base Officer's Club Dottie worked as a waitress and once served President Roosevelt his dinner. Bill, while tending bar, who later advanced to Chief Petty Officer, saw Dottie walk across the room and knew that she would become the love of his life. Dottie is also survived by two daughters and son-in-laws. Diane and Franklin Roest of Boulder Creek, CA. and Debbie and Jim D'Amato of Bakersfield. She was the proud grandmother of 3 grandsons, 1granddaughter, and 2 granddaughter-in-laws. Eric and Mary D'Amato, Ryan and Chrissy D'Amato, Kyle D'Amato and his finance Amy Lonsinger, all of Bakersfield and Elisa Roest of Santa Cruz. Dottie cherished her 5 Great grandchildren, Dominique, Mia, Kara, Alison and Aubrie D'Amato. Her sister Pat Winter, and her very dear friend Patti Ingram also survive her.
